Donald W. Sorah’s In Memoriam, a string orchestra composition with optional organ accompaniment, pays tribute to the lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. The music alternates between melancholic melodies and somber textures, evoking moments of reflection and remembrance. Powerful and urgent passages emerge as musical pleas for aid and unity,
reflecting humanity’s collective struggle and hope for relief from the crisis. Ultimately, the work serves as both a heartfelt tribute and a call for resilience and compassion.
