Westward Star combines two favorites of the holiday season: We Three Kings of Orient, Are and Silent Night in an accessible and authentic manner. All sections of the orchestra have melodic material and accompanying parts so that every part of the orchestra can shine. We Three Kings of Orient, Are is performed first in a minor key, which is followed by Silent Night in a different key and in its major tonality. At the end, both melodies are intertwined in a major key for a memorable ending. This is a repertoire selection for the developing orchestra!
